Panama is a year-round destination, but each month has its own personality. We guide you month by month with weather, events, prices, and what to expect.
Dry Season (December–April)
December-January: Peak season. Highest prices, especially Christmas and New Year's. Perfect weather, 82-90°F (28-32°C). Book well in advance. February: Carnival (4-day national holiday). Excellent weather. March: Good weather continues. Easter may fall here — another peak period. April: Last dry month. Getting hotter. Excellent for golf and beach with prices starting to drop.
Green Season (May–November)
May-June: Rains start, usually 1-3 hours in the afternoon. Sunny mornings. Prices drop 20-30%. Nature turns lush. July-October: Humpback whale season on the Pacific — spectacular. Intermittent rain. Best prices of the year (30-40% less). Excellent for budgets. September-October: Rainiest months. But rains are tropical (brief and intense) — not all-day rain. November: Last rains. Independence celebrations (Nov 3, 4, 5) — nationwide festivities. Prices start rising for high season.
Our tip: January-March for perfect weather, July-August for best value. Avoid the last week of December if you want tranquility.
